Case of the Week – 9/25/11 – Gilliam v. Gentry

Eugene Gilliam was stopped by the Pratville Alabama Police for speeding. They found marijuana on him and decided  to arrest him. They ended up tasering him multiple times during the arrest. He suffered chest pains and shortness of breath and died seven hours later. The Medical Examiner found that the tasering was not the cause of the death but may have contributed to it. The Eleventh Circuit Federal Court Of Appeals decides if Mr. Gilliam’s claim can be brought by estate after he dies. Gilliam v. Gentry Podcast
